Mind-Body Therapy
Hello,
Personal Therapy is for adults, comprising of 50-minute one-to-one sessions in a safe, confidential space. I have a workspace in central Lewes or can meet online.
** I am training to become an Integrative Yoga Psychotherapist. I am offering a reduced rate during this training time of £25 per hour. I am qualified coach, Yoga teacher and have completed a Foundational Year in Integrative Transactional Analysis therapy. A full list of my training is below in Frequently Asked Questions **
Do you feel a lot of anxiety? Do you find social situations difficult? Do you struggle to sleep? Or perhaps your energy is depleted. Do you find it hard to cope with life? Do you have a 'monkey-mind' where it is busy, maybe even overwhelmed a lot the time? Or perhaps you feel numb or maybe even nothing at all.
With my body based, whole-person approach, I work with symptoms of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), the 'stress response' that can be considered an adaptive survival response rather than your conscious choice. In other words, how you experience the world is not your fault.
You don't have to keep living like this. I offer a space to explore, accept and perhaps facilitate personal transformation.
Does any of this feel familiar to you? These are the responses of the ANS that can kick in, before we even realise they are there. They drive our behaviour, thoughts and feelings. which impacts our relationships with others and ourselves.
Fight — moving against threat through anger, control, defence, or confrontation
Flight — moving away from threat through avoidance, anxiety, overworking,
or escape
Freeze — becoming stuck, immobilised, shut down, or unable to act
Dissociation — disconnecting from thoughts, emotions, sensations, or
surroundings as a protective survival response
Fawn — appeasing or people-pleasing to maintain safety or connection
In Body-Mind therapy, practices such as breath regulation, grounding, movement, mindfulness, and body awareness may help support nervous system regulation and a greater sense of safety and embodiment, alongside the talking therapy.
I am humanistic, which believes each person has the capacity for growth, self-awareness, healing, and change. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space.
I charge £25 per session whilst I am training, both in person in Lewes, East Sussex and through Zoom online.
I offer a complimentary first 50-minute session before we enter into any agreement, so we can see if we are right for one another.
I truly hope to meet you in the future.
Kate
